A1 certificates delivered via Suomi.fi in the future
As of 31 October 2023, personal customers who use the Suomi.fi Messages service will receive the A1 certificate granted to them by the Finnish Centre for Pensions via that service.
If you use the Suomi.fi Messages service, you will get the A1 certificate and covering letter via that service in the future. That means that the A1 certificate will no longer be mailed to you by post. You will get an e-mail from the Suomi.fi Messages service once your certificate has arrived. If you are not using the Suomi.fi Messages service, you will get the documents by post.
You and your employer can view the A1 certificate and the covering letter in the Finnish Centre for Pensions’ eServices, as before. You will no longer get an e-mail about the documents via our eServices; instead, you get an e-mail from the Suomi.fi Messages service.
Your employer will get the printed A1 certificate and the covering letter by post as before. However, when your employer applies for the A1 certificate, it can state on the application that it does not want to receive the A1 certificate and the covering letter by post. In that case, your employer can download the documents from the eServices of the Finnish Centre for Pensions.
